A scene from Roar China! (a play in two acts with seven scetnes 1926) written by the Russian playwright Sergei Tretyakov (1892 - 1937) and produced at Thetre Guild, Broadway, New York, in 1930. Theatre Guild's 1930 production of Roar, China! was Broadway's first play with a majority Asian cast. Chinese performers were recruited by the Chinese Benevolent and Dramatic Association. The cast included economist Ji Chaoding.





Setting: On a Quay in the Harbor of Wan Hsien and on the deck of the H.M.S. Europa, anchored in the harbor during the summer of 1926
