The Headmaster (a British farce in four acts), written by Edward Knoblock and Wilfred T. Coleby, and first staged on 22 January 1913 at the Playhouse Theatre in London. The production, directed by Cyril Maude, quickly gained popularity for its witty dialogue and satirical take on British upper-class pretensions, running for 151 performances in its initial London engagement.

The Headmaster involves a clergyman working as the headmaster (by Wilfred T Coleby) of a school who tries to persuade his daughter to marry the idiotic son of an influential figure in the hope of being promoted to bishop.
