Some scenes from The Hairy Ape written by Eugene O'Neill (1888 - 1953) and directed and designed by Robert Edmond Jones (1887-1954) at the Provincetown Theatre, New York City, running from March 9, 1922 to July 1.
The production by the Provincetown Players in 1922 was praised for its use of expressionistic set design and staging techniques, and was transferred to a theatre on Broadway.
