The Three Sisters written by Anton Chekhov and produced by the Moscow Art Theatre with the director Stanislavski in 1901

Some scenes from The Three Sisters written by the Russian playwright Anton Chekhov (1860-1904) and produced by the Moscow Art Theatre under the direction of Konstantin Stanislavski (1863 - 1938) and Vladimir Nemirovich-Danchenko, with the scenic design by Viktor Simov, on February 13, 1901

The cast included Stanislavski as Vershinin, Olga Knipper as Masha, Maria Andreyeva as Irina, Vsevolod Meyerhold as Tusenback, Maria Samarova as Anfisa and Alexander Vishnevsky as Kulygin. This became the most popular of the MAT's productions of Chekhov's plays, remaining part of the company's repertoire for the next 18 years.

The (Marriage) Proposal (1889) written Anton Chekhov and produced at the Vassar College Theater, USA, in 1927

Some scenes from The Proposal (first published in 1889) written by the Russian playwright Anton Chekhov (1860-1904) and produced at the Vassar College Theater, USA, in 1927. They performed it three times in one evening, each with a very different staging: in the second version, played closer to tragedy, the actors were masked, and in the third the actors were all dressed in work suits in a playground, tossing a ball between them.

Some scenes from Tsar Fyodor Ioannovich (first published in 1868 and first performed in an amateur production in Saint Petersburg in 1890) written by the Russian playwright Count Aleksey Konstantinovich Tolstoy (1817-1875) and produced by the Moscow Art Theatre, under the direction of Constantin Stanislavski (1863 - 1938) and Alexander Sanin, with the scenic design by Viktor Simov, on October 26, 1898

The cast included Vsevolod Meyerhold as Prince Vasili Shuysky, Olga Knipper as Princess Irina, Maria Roksanova as Princess Mstislavskaya, Alexander Vishnevsky as Boris Godunov, Vasily Luzhsky as Prince Ivan Shuysky, Mikhail Darski as Prince Andrey Shuysky, Alexander Sanin as Lup-Kleshnin, Georgy Burdzhalov as Mikhaylo Golovin, Maria Samarova as Volokhova and Alexander Artem as Kryukov; Ivan Moskvin initially played Fedor, followed by Vasily Kachalov and then Nikolai Khmelev. The censor insisted on the removal of all religious characters from the production.
