  The Play of Robin and Marion is a 13th-century musical play by Adam de la Halle, a French poet and musician. It is considered an early example of French secular theatre and a predecessor to comic opera.

   Among Dobuzhinsky's later works are series of masterful and dramatic illustrations, notably for Fyodor Dostoevsky's White Nights (1923) and Yury Olesha's Three Fat Men (1925). Dobuzhinsky contributed sets for theatre productions in Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, and Düsseldorf. During World War II, Dobuzhinsky painted imaginary landscapes of the besieged Leningrad.

The Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News, May 4th, 1907, "Clancarty," by Tom Taylor, at the Lyric Theatre.

   1- Mr. J. E. George as the Earl of Portland.   2- Lady Clancarty (Miss Evelyn Millard) successfully appeals to King William III. (Mr. W. Mackintosh) to save the life of her husband, who, though an open enemy of the King's, is not the assassin he is thought to be.

   3- Lady Clancarty (Miss Evelyn Millard), disguised as a washerwoman, visits her condemned husband  in his prison.

   4- Mr. Lewis Waller as Lord Clancarty (an adherent of King James) when under sentence of death for treason against King William III.

   5- Miss Adrieenne Augarde as Lady Betty Noel, a jelous young friend of Lady Clancarty's

   6- Lady Clancarty in her bed-chamber with Lady Betty Noel on the night when Lord Clancarty seeks refuge there.   7- Lady Clancarty consoles her husband in the prison.

   Alt-Heidelberg is a play by Wilhelm Meyer-Förster, which was performed for the first time on 22 November 1901 at the Berlin Theatre. It became the most successful German-language play of its time.
