   Scenes from The Miracle (Das Mirakel 1911) written by the German playwright Karl Vollmöller (1878 - 19 48) and produced at the Olympia Theatre, London, under the direction of Max Reinhardt (Austria-born theatre director, 1873 - 1943), on 23 December 1911. It was a collaboration between the Austrian director Max Reinhardt and the English impresario C B Cochran, and was a spectacular with a cast of two thousand.

   The Miracle is a 1911 wordless play by Karl Vollmöller with integral and accompanying music by Engelbert Humperdinck as well as church songs and sacred chants.

On the previous day, November 8, the Irish Players performed two shows at the Northampton Academy of Music, a matinee and evening performance.

   The Wide Country is a tragicomedy in five acts by Arthur Schnitzler. The premiere took place on 2 November 1910 at the Novyj dramatičeskij teatr in Saint Petersburg. It was not performed in German until a year later, on 14 October 1911, at several stages at the same time.

The Living Corpse (Russian: Живой труп), written by Leo Tolstoy (1828-1910), and premiered at the Moscow Art Theatre, on 5 October 1911.

   Although written around 1900, it was only published shortly after his death—Tolstoy had never considered the work finished.
