Scenes from The Schoolmistress (a farce in three acts), written by the British playwright Sir A. W. Pinero (1855-1934), at the Vaudeville Theatre, London, from 25th February to 24th May 1913.
The Schoolmistress is a farce by Arthur Wing Pinero. It depicts the complications at a girls' boarding school when the headmistress is away, leaving her feckless husband in charge. The play opened at the Court Theatre, London in March 1886 and ran for 291 performances.

a- The closing scene, when the Schoolmistress (Miss Winifred Emery) throws off her aristocratic incubus of a husband, Vere Queckett, and resolves to live by her comic opera talents in future.
b- The secret supper-party given at Volumnia College (for the daughters of gentlemen) during the mistress's absence. The confused Admiral is closing a speech in honour of the newly married couple which is a curious blend of ships at husbands.
