The Sphere, September 7th, 1907,   of "A Striking Scene in the Poetic Play, "Attila" by Arthur Garratt.  Mr. Laurence Binyon's Four-Act Play, Attila, produced by Mr. Oscar Asche on Wednesday evening, deals with the King of the Huns (A.D. 453) from the Poetic rather than the historic standpoint. The scene is the ramparts of a Burgundian city. This picture shows Mr. Asche as Attila encountering the Burgundian princess, Ildico (Miss Lily Brayton), om whom he sets his heart. The scenery and dresses as designed by Mr. C.S. Ricketts are particularly beautiful.

   1- Attila  (Mr. Oscar Asche) to Messalia  (Mr. H. R. Hignett) :  "Give me this ring! What thing or device is wrought upon the gem?"

   2- Ildico  (Miss Lily Brayton) :  "Yes,  Sigismund (Mr. Godfrey Tearle), but he would use me, and I'll be no instrument of his or any man's."

   3- Kerka  (Miss Rorke)  "Hernak  (Cyril Bruce),  be absent from the feast to-night."

   4- Ildico :  "Say it again, say it is willed in heaven.  Say that you love me."  

   5- Sigismund : "To-night he weds with a Burgundian bride :  Shall Burgundy be silent?  Here and now i dedicate  my sword to Attila." (Drawing his sword, he ruches at Attile.)
