The Hairy Ape written by Eugene O'Neill and produced at the Provincetown Theatre, Broadway, in 1922

Some scenes from The Hairy Ape written by Eugene O'Neill (1888 - 1953) and directed and designed by Robert Edmond Jones (1887-1954) at the Provincetown Theatre, New York City, running from March 9, 1922 to July 1

The production by the Provincetown Players in 1922 was praised for its use of expressionistic set design and staging techniques, and was transferred to a theatre on Broadway.
