Two scenes from The Faithful (3-act-tragedy, a British interpretation of the Japanese Chushingura legend, 1915) written by the British playwright John Masefield (1878 - 1967) and produced by the Theatre Guild (founded in 1918), New York City, under the direction of Irving Pichel (1891 - 1954), with the stage designed by Lee Simonson, having run for 49 performances from Oct. 13, 1919 to January 1920. This play was performed in Tokyo on May 21, 1921 as a kind of reverse import.
