The Faithful (1915) written by John Masefield and produced at the Theatre Guild, New York, under the direction of Irving Pichel and with the stage designed by Lee Simonson, in 1919

Two scenes from The Faithful (3-act-tragedy, a British interpretation of the Japanese Chushingura legend, 1915) written by the British playwright John Masefield (1878 - 1967) and produced by the Theatre Guild (founded in 1918), New York City, under the direction of Irving Pichel (1891 - 1954), with the stage designed by Lee Simonson, having run for 49 performances from Oct. 13, 1919 to January 1920. This play was performed in Tokyo on May 21, 1921 as a kind of reverse import.
