   a- Gerard a witless D'Artagnan set in the Napoleonic period, is here seen laying impetuous siege at a most inopportune moment to the Countesse de Roquelaure's heart, 

   b- Gerard, engaging in the first of a lengthy set of duels which have been awaiting his leisure hour.

   c- Gerard escapes from the house of Talleyrand by concealing himself in the cloak of the latter. As the cloak contains some much-desired letters, its theft carries the lucky soldier to a chance success.

   d- The powerful and astute Talleyrand (Mr. Edward O'Neill), Napoleon's opponent, in one of his encounters with the Contesse de Roquelaure (Miss Evelyn Millard), the Emperor's friend, with whom he is in love.  The Countess subsequently yields her hand to the dauntless Brigadier Gerard.

   e- Mr. Lewis Waller as Captain (later Brigadier) Gerard, a Gascon braggart of great bravery, honour, and stupidity, whose headstrong actions stumble upon success.
