A scene from Die Ratten (The Rats, tragicomedy, 1911) written by the German playwright Gerhart Hauptmann (1862 - 1946) and produced at the Volksbühne Berlin with Else Lehmann as Frau John in 1911. But its premiere took place on 13 January 1911 at the Lessing Theatre in Berlin.
