The play had its premiere on 12 August 1910 in the inn "Zur Überfahrt" in Egern am Tegernsee (today part of the municipality of Rottach-Egern) by Michael Dengg's Bauernbühne. According to another source, the premiere took place on September 10, 1910 in Munich.
