   Leonid Nikolaevich Andreyev (Russian: Леонид Николаевич Андреев; Oriol, August 9Jul./ August 21, 1871 greg. - September 12, 1919 ) was a Russian writer and playwright who led the Expressionist movement in Russian literature. He was active in the period between the Revolution of 1905 and the October Revolution of 1917.
