Scenes from The Darling of the Gods written by the American dramatist David Belasco (1853-1931), and performed at His Majesty's Theatre, London, in January 1904.
David Belasco (July 25, 1853 – May 14, 1931) was an American theatrical producer, impresario, director, and playwright. He was the first writer to adapt the short story Madame Butterfly for the stage.

a- Act 1. Scene 3.- The first meeting of villainous Zakkuri (Mr. Tree), with Yo-SAn (Miss Lena Ashwell), in the Great State Hall of her father's Palace, during the night of "The Feast of a Thousand Welcomes."
b- Act 1. Scene 3.- The Great State Hall.- The Princess Yo-San (Miss Lena Ashwell), and Prince Kara (Mr. Basil Gill), who had only seen each other once before, and that by a flash of light from a lantern, now avow that they loved at first sight.
c- Act III.- Behind the Shoji of Yo-San's sanctuary.- Yo-San's father, Saigon (Mr. S. A. Cookson), finding his daughter has secreted her wounded lover, Kara, in her apartments, is about to execute her. Yo-San obediently bends her head to receive the stroke, which is, however, stayed by Kara's intervention.
