   Wozzeck is the first opera by Austrian composer Alban Berg, created between 1914 and 1922 and premiered on 14 December 1925 at the Berlin State Opera. Based on Georg Büchner's play Woyzeck (1836), it depicts a soldier's tragic slide into madness and murder amid militarism and oppression.

Pygmalion written by George Bernard Shaw and opened at His Majesty's Theatre, London, on April 11, 1914

   Scenes from Pygmalion written by the  British playwright George Bernard Shaw (1856 - 1950) and opened at His Majesty's Theatre, London, on April 11, 1914, featuring Mrs Patrick Campbell as Eliza Doolittle, Edmund Gurney as Alfred Doolittle and Sir Herbert Tree as Professor Higgins.

   This Sketch dubbed it Bernard Shaw's 'naughty word play' as Eliza utters the word "bloody" which had never been used on the stage.
