  It is a spectacular event that about 180 modern plays were translated into Japanese and published in Tokyo in 1928 as a series of 43 volumes of modern plays in the world. See the list of dramas listed in my home-page http://gengobunka.web.fc2.com/kindaigeki.html .

  In addition to the 43 volumes, another special volume was also issued, which included 100 pictures of the dramas performed around 1920 in the Western world. It seems to me that they are now very rare and precious from a historical point of view. In this blog, I would like to present all of you each picture with some comments.
